Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

On May 29, 2024, Shamez Mukhi, an educator and trainer, led an impactful session on “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” at the Notre Dame Institute of Education (NDIE). Engaging with our prospective teachers, he delved into the fundamentals of promoting anti-bias education in schools, structured around the domains of Identity, Diversity, Justice, and Action. Shamez urged educators to take responsibility in standing up against exclusion, prejudice, and discrimination. Through a blend of knowledge-building, empathy, and collective action, he highlighted how we can foster a more inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students.
