Gillian Rodrigues is faculty at NDIE. Currently she serves as programme coordinator of the flagship programmes at NDIE. Her responsibilities within this capacity are to ensure the smooth functioning of the B.Ed Hons programmes and work towards improving the quality of the flagship programmes. Further, she has to make sure that the programme activities are on schedule as well as monitor the implementation of the programmes. She has also been engaged in developing teachers for whole school improvement programmes and conducts professional development courses for teachers of cooperating schools. Her teaching responsibilities are primarily with the B.Ed (H) programmes and include Teaching of English (Pedagogy), Technical Writing, Critical Thinking and Reflective Practices, Inclusive Education, Classroom Assessment, Action Research and Academic Writing She has contributed to the development of the English Textbook of the Sindh Textbook Board as well as works on the Assessment Framework for the National Curriculum for primary and middle school levels. Gillian has served as a freelance editor at AKU-IED. Moreover, she has served as Joint Secretary in the executive committee of the Pakistan Association for Research in Education (PARE). Her research interests include Education for All, Gender Equity and Equality, Equitable Educational Policies and Practices, English Language Teaching. Gillian also works as editor for the biannual publication of the NDIE newsletter. Currently she also serves as a facilitator for the Aga Khan University’s Women’s Leadership Academy. She is a doctoral scholar at the Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development.
